Gamification in eLearning

Gamification

Gamification is the incorporation of game elements and mechanics into non-game contexts, such as eLearning platforms, websites, or applications. It involves adding features like points, badges, leader boards, challenges, and rewards to make the learning experience more engaging and enjoyable.

Define business objectives, identify who will be playing and what they need to do, determine how gamification will help you achieve your objectives.

A good story or theme brings all the gamification elements together towards a singular purpose.

Identify & design the game elements such as points, levels, challenges, rewards, scarcity, time limits, leader boards you will use.

Implement the game mechanics into your LMS from a technical perspective. Rolling it out to your audience.  

Game Based Learning

Game-based learning refers to using actual games as part of the learning process.

In this approach, the entire learning experience is structured as a game, and educational content is delivered through gameplay.

Game-based learning can range from simple educational games designed for a single educational purpose to more complex and immersive game environments.
